Ethics FAQs

Answer:

Yes, you need to submit a signed copy of your application. Both electronic signatures and scanned copies (as PDFs) are accepted. Remember to quote your ethics reference number on your application if you have one (in the format AREA 16-123. Email your signed application form to ResearchEthics@leeds.ac.uk

Your application will be processed more quickly if you submit an electronic version of the signed form, but if that’s not possible you can send a hard copy through the internal post to:

If you want to deliver your application in person you are welcome to leave your application with the RIS Reception in room 11.37 on level 11 of the Worsley Building. You can access the RIS offices in two ways:

From Level 4, Clarendon Way:

  • Take the lift on level 4 to level 7. Turn left out of the lift (these are the double lifts) and walk through the Medical School foyer/ Café Seven area and through the double doors. Take the single lift (no. 65) or the staircase up to level 11.
  • Come out of the lift and turn left. You will walk through three sets of double doors, turn immediately left again after the third door. Follow the corridor as far as you can go.

From the main campus:

  • Enter the Worsley Building on level 7, and you will find yourself in the Medical School foyer/ Café Seven area. Turn right and go through the double doors. Take the single lift (no. 65) or the main staircase up to level 11.
  • Come out of the lift and turn left. You will walk through three sets of double doors, turn immediately left again after the third door. Follow the corridor as far as you can go.


Applicants from the Faculty of Medicine and Health should contact the Faculty Research Ethics and Governance Administrator, FMHUniEthics@leeds.ac.uk, as procedures in the Faculty differ.
