Working in partnership with the Faculty Research and Innovation Offices, the Research and Innovation Service (RIS) provides central support to research and innovation activities across the University in three key areas: Performance, Governance and Operations, Funding Development and Innovation Services.
RIS defines the systems and processes underpinning the devolved structure for research and innovation grants management, supports the monitoring, development and reporting of academic research performance, including preparations for submissions to the Research Excellence Framework, sets the policy and procedure for ethical review and ensures the highest standards of professional development.
We work with Faculty offices to increase our market share of research and innovation income through a strategic package of tailored support for large-scale funding applications, bringing together staff across disciplinary boundaries. We have specific expertise in schemes and provide post-award support for successful EU bids.
We also provide an expert contract review service, IP and commercialisation support and support to key areas of innovation activity including strategic partnerships, , consultancy, Innovation Funding and to our Sector Innovation Hubs.
