Researchfish is the system through which many major research funders (for example the UKRI Research Councils, Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation) collect information about the outcomes of research projects they have funded.  This information allows funders to track and demonstrate the impact of their funding.

Open Access

The RIS Quality and Policy team works closely with the Library Research Support team to support open research, including working with the Library to identify, validate and apply open access exceptions.

Symplectic publications database

Symplectic is the University’s database of research outputs, available to any member of academic or research staff and to postgraduate research students. Symplectic is the source of outputs information for the University’s submissions to research assessment exercises.

Institutional Research and Impact System (IRIS)

IRIS is the Institutional Research and Impact System. It has been developed by IT TS&D on behalf of RIS and builds on the success of the Submission Planner designed by the same team to support the University’s 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission.
