Research Impact and Knowledge Exchange Steering Group
Purpose of the Research Impact and Knowledge Exchange Steering Group:
The purpose of the Steering Group is to provide a strategic view on Knowledge Exchange and Research Impact activity from across the University, ensuring that activities align, complement, and build on each other to create the most value for the university.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Research Impact and Knowledge Exchange activities align with wider institutional strategies.
- Ensuring KPIs developed for Research Impact and Knowledge Exchange are suitable indicators.
- Input into and oversight of the development of a Knowledge Exchange Strategy.
- Oversight of progress against the Knowledge Exchange Concordat and Knowledge Exchange Framework narratives, making recommendations to support improvement of our KE culture and environment to the Research Innovation Board (RIB).
- Oversight of the implementation of Impact Portfolios at School level, making recommendations to support improvement of our Impact environment to RIB.
- Receive reports from major impact and knowledge exchange investments, such as the Research England Policy Support Fund and the Impact Accelerator Accounts.
- Advocate for and highlight opportunities and interventions to improve the quality of our knowledge exchange and impact across the University.
- Engage with the REF Steering Group and provide recommendations on how best to support impact and the development of REF Impact Case studies in the lead up to the next REF.
Membership:
Membership to the Steering Group is for 12 months fixed term (March 2023 – February 2024).
