Funding for public engagement
Research Development Fund
The Research Development Fund (RDF) gives a financial grant to researchers who want to engage with the public, to develop a grant application.
Many research funding streams either require or look favourably on applications that are developed with members of the public. The University recognises that there are financial implications to this kind of activity.
The fund aims to alleviate this financial burden so researchers can produce high quality activities.
Eligibility
- The RDF is available to all researchers from all disciplines
- You must be an employee of the University of Leeds
- You must be able to demonstrate how the activity will lead to a grant application within nine months of receiving the RDF
If you are unsure about your eligibility for this award, please contact the Public Engagement team
Applications to the RDF are rolling throughout the year. You will receive an outcome within a month of sending your application.
Download the application guidance for more information and complete the application form. Please send your completed form to the Public Engagement team putting 'RDF Application – YOUR NAME’ in the email subject.
